Wolf MIG 140 Gas/No Gas Combination Turbo – Five Stars

Good looks like it has a europe handle in pictures but its not.

Not too big, quite heavy to carry but it has wheels fitted and pull handle that are very handy. I’ve only had a quick try on the welding side to check everything works as it should and it seems to weld smooth and quiet. . Comes with everything you need to gas weld or gasless weld.

Highly recommended for the home mechanic. Here are the specifications for the Wolf MIG 140 Gas/No Gas Combination Turbo:

  • 30 amps-135 amps welding current range
  • 6 selectable power settings
  • Fully portable
  • Operates from a 230V single phase supply
  • Weight: 32Kg

There is alot of bad reviews i’ve seen about this welder but for me it’s a great bit of kit. I’m no professional and i would imagine the bad reviews come from fully qualified welders but honestly, if you are looking for something that does the job i would buy this. Don’t buy any of those silly little gas bottles though as they are a complete waste of money. Get yourself a full sized bottle.

Great priced welder with many functions for heat and speed unlike others in its price range.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • Tweak it and it does the job actually!
  • Great bit of kit
  • very good mig welder usually small migs are quite poor but

Very complicated wire feed system.

After using it a few times i have found it works perfectly. The gas hose in the handle came loose and needed securing, staying that the build quality is good and easily matches more expensive machines. I’d recommend this to anybody.

Great welder easy to use get setting right you wont.

Well for the money it’s actually a decent little welder for the money with a bit of tweaking. Nothing fancy but after a few months use it’s going strong and i’ve ran some decent welds out of it. Get rid of the little gas bottle (the one supplied was leaking at thread connection badly. And regulator waste of time. Get yourself some fittings to connect to a full size regulator and gas bottle, safer and cheaper in the long run much better too if your welding under 1mm sheet. Those little bottles will barely last the hour. If you must go gasless (i’m not a fan) try some decent quality flux core wire. The supplied reels won’t help your quest for getting decent welds out of it. It is by no means a great welding machine and it is probably a tough machine to learn on if your starting out, but it works with a regular tweaks on the dials.

This is an excellent welder for the money. I have little welding experience but quickly got good results (after watching some youtube videos on mig welding) even using the non gas settings. Just what i needed for my classic car restoration.

Very happy with this product.

Works well, bought as present and no problems that have seen. Keeps him happy playing with new toy.

Very good mig welder usually small migs are quite poor but this is really very good for its size. I have worked as a welder for 20 years and this is better than some workshop units i have used.

Nice little welding set, excellent on higher heat settings, i’ve used it to weld 5mm thick steel and it did this with no problems at all. Not to good on lower settings but still useable.

Good to use and easier to move where needed good feed and temp control and very portable for the jobs that need done.

This little welder works very well and is a good unit to start learning to weld with,a good buy for the diy enthusiast.

Very pleased with this buy thank you.

I received the welder assembled it and it works perfectly. Only 1 moan is that the co2 gas bottle that was supposed to be with it was not in the welder or packaging. I would greatly appreciate it if you could forward 1 to me please?.

Perfect done a lot of welding on my classic mini resoration.

A fun new toy for my geek shed.

Easily assembled , only for light welding. Not too bad, could be better.

I bought a wolfweld 140 as my first mig welder. I thought it was ok as i didn’t know any better until my cousin, a welder, told me it was no good. This welder will be fine for thin work up to 2mm steel, but more than that and you will be getting no penetration. This is not a 140 amp welder. If you are looking for a good hobby welder go for something like a clarke 145 (which i now use).

Body of welder made poor as door doesn’t fit properly onto catch so it keeps falling open, plus i would of expected to see a shelf for the bottle to sit on,as it is it resets on the floor as clamp is not very good.
