Well made and strong enough to cut what i need, this was a very good buy.
The first one developed a fault after using it 3 times. The fault was reported to amazon who replaced it the following day. The new one has worked perfectly ever since.
I use this professionally as a builder it is very well made nice and light. It cut through solid 40mm oak no problem would definetely recommend. All the features work fine as long as you set them up properly in the first place.
- Amazing value for money!!!
- GMC 1200W 165mm Circular Saw
- Good entry level saw
The on switch is a bit awkward to use when wearing safety gloves but otherwise ok. Good speed and laser light but others might be more critical i am not a professional.
I’m a 60+ lady just started using power tools. I looked on youtube for indepth instructions. Wish i’d got a bigger one now.

Great item still going strong.
I have found this product to work well. The laser guide is a helpful addition in making accurate cuts.
This was my first circular saw purchase and so far it hasn’t disappointed. I thought the laser guide was a bit of a gimmick but it is really useful. One top tip i would say is to not engage the saw when the blade is against the wood as when ou switch on the saw twitches a bit with the power. The saw seems man enough to cut through soft wood like it wasn’t there. I used it mostly for cutting 4’x4′ wood and it did this with ease. It comes with a useful guide to help cut parallel lines which takes a little practice but works well.
Bought this because i was so impressed with thé gmc jigsaw.
Really good so i’m very happy good price does a job.
I bought this for light use only. Based on other people’s reviews and i’m very pleased with the saw. It’s of pretty good quality and the motor is powerful.
Brilliant saw that can cut beveled angles.
I’ve used this a few times now and find it a joy to use.
Really good power for the price and the laser is pretty good too. It is fairly heavy, but this hopefully means it is decent quality and will last a long time.
Good:laser is accurate and handy. A decent circular saw at a very cheap price. Not so good:arrived with baseplate a bit loose cause of a loose screw, but screws not very strong and cannot be tightened too much. Bevel scale and baseplate notches for alignment are not accurate. Blade flange that presses blade against the inner flange came with small imperfection as it wouldn’t tighten the blade enough (easily fixed with needle file). I think it’s a good entry level circular saw, but because of these faults i gave it 3 stars.
Laser is a great help trying to cut in a straight line. Brilliant tool to use with my workbench.
Starts and runs more like an angle grinder than a saw, but buy cheap and you get cheap. In all fairness it does say it is perfect for ripping materials, which is what i use it for. I would not use it for woodworking, so 4 stars for value for money.
Have only used this saw once so i cant comment on its durability. But i used it for ripping 11×2 oak lengthwise into three pieces and it was accurate and went through it like butter.
Saw works fine, cuts through mdf like butter, natural wood bit more awkward but never the less cuts ok & for the price saw is quite a good price & also prevails of the laser guide which i also have found enables me to do a much better & straighter cut.
Cut through a heavy thick worktop in about 30 seconds, laser was also amazing and i highly recommend this product.
Not as light as i hoped bearing in mind gmc boasting of carbon fibre partial construction. Also was very scratched and several greasy marks over it but seemed unused. It cuts well enough though blade size of 165mm is less common and less competitively priced than some other sizes.
I bought this saw because of the advertised weight of 2. 3 kgs, but to my surprise when i unboxed it i was sure it was maore than advertised. I weighed it on my digital scales and it weighs in at 4. 1 kgs which is a lot heavier than expected. But the saw does its job fine.
The saw is reasonable light weight yet ridged in its construction. The spindle lock doesn’t appear to be very good but i just remove the blade the way it was done before spindle locks were available. Apart from this sight nuisance it seems powerful enough and accurate. I only bought it because it is much lighter than my bigger saw so it will never be cutting beyond it’s capacity and i think it is handy for light work.
