This is really a great machine for the diy person.
Welder is good, it was the delivery that was rubbish.

Sealey MIGHTYMIG150 150Amp Professional Gas/No-Gas MIG Welder : Easy enough to use and set up, good results so far.
Easy to use , good control over thin metals , does make a lot of splatter when using flux core wire.
Very good welder enough to weld steel 5mm or more.
Surprising it works as well as some of the more expensive migs i’ve had.
Arrived with both plastic hinges broken off. These secure the side panel. Disappointed as others have found this too. Not used welder yet as it’s raining all week.
First and foremost, this is a hobby level machine. Therefore yes, the wire feed is a bit inconsistent. The power settings are vague, and the duty cycle is naff on the higher settings (on low, i haven’t yet tripped the thermal cutout). However, it makes noises, and sticks bits of metal together. What more could you want?i bought this as a warehouse deal, so i payed not much more than for the cheaper 100 amp no-gas only version. This does not come fitted with a plug. I have only used this with flux core wire, but the conversion to gas is as simple as connecting a bottle and regulator, switching the polarity, and using the correct wire. This welder is saving me a fortune in garage bills – about half my van has rotted away, and i’m welding in the replacement bits myself. The lowest power setting is still a bit too hot for seam welding bodywork, but a series of tacks/spot welds on top of one another does the trick.
Plastic door hinges were broken straight out the box, but it joins metal together so what can you say.
The welder works well but the plastic hinges are dreadful as one has already broken.
Way better than my old welder that gave up the ghost. Runs smoothly & great value.
Great, much better and smaller than my old sip welder, makes even my welds look good.
I bought this to weld a roll cage in a car. 45mm steel tubing 3mm thick. This welder works brilliantly. I wasn’t sure what power welder to buy, but this one has 4 settings (1 min, 1 max, 2 min, 2 max). For welding the tubes together i am using 1 max (half power) and to tack the plates to the floor (to avoid burning a hole in the floor) i am using 1 min. On 1 max it will easily burn away the tubing if you hold the power on it too long. Strangely enough, i bought a spare roll of wire, from sealey, the same as supplied with the welder, but this produces a much better weld??. Its not professional standard, but i will clean up the welds with an angle grinder afterwards and it should look pukker. I am using a standard 13 amp ring main, with standard plug on the welder (not supplied) with a 13 amp fuse and i have not experienced any cut outs or overloads.Btw, buy an auto dimming welding helmet, they are brilliant.
