Proxxon Micromot DB 250 MICRO Woodturning Lathe : BRILLIANT!

Borough it for my grandson was very pleased with it so son likes it , we would buy it again.

It’s compact versatile sturdy and accurate. I would recommend to all model workers. A good product worth it’s money.

I wasnt too sure about whether id done the right thing in ordering this product as i had no turning experience. I absolutely love this machine i made 2 chisels and used to wood working chisels. Its either easy to turn wood or im just naturally talented 🙂 i cant stop making stuff i already have my eye on a bigger machine with more power for larger items. This machine is well built and carves really nicely ive been using sycamore hardwood and its been great.

Has to be one of the best small lathes out there and the customer support from proxxon is first class. I bought the three jaw chuck no 27 026 and the tail-stock drill chuck no 27 028 well as i need to bore out some tubes for the wooden clock i’m making and these have made everything just so easyhighly recommended.

  • Best micro/mini lather out there
  • Easy to set up and change tools and good speed

I wish i coild give this more than 5 out of 5 stars. It is a brilliant little lathe and perfect for use on my desk at home. Lol) i highly recommend getting the 3 jaw chuck with it too.

Very powerful for it’s size. As a tradesman, would this recommend.

Small, neat and after fixing onto a board was just what i needed. I did review other items before purchase and this held up well in the reviews.

Ok yes it is small but from a hobby point of view it does the job and does it well. Easy to set up and change tools and good speed adjustment. Its not paticularly noisy and i did secure it with 2 screws to my workbench to stop it moving about, but i’m more than happy with it.

This is of the usual proxxon high quality. Very quiet in operation and with excellent torque. The tool rest can be placed just about anywhere and provides excellent support.

It’s worth nothing – i bought this as a gift for a friend, knowing little about wood turning myself. I think i was fixed on the ‘bargain price’ and ignored the fact that it was actually absolutely tiny. Think about suitable for a regular sized pencil. However, once the gift recipient had stopped laughing they did remark that it was just too small for their needs, but that the quality of the device was excellent. This may seem like a ‘warning: coffee hot’ piece of advice but i fell for irt, and i’m sure the company doesn’t want to handle many returns from people thinking they’re buying a bigger lathe. Speaking of which, thjey handled the returns process superbly, were understanding, and prompt with a refund. I’d have no hesitation recommending them to others. Five stars because post sale customer service was top notch, and it would be unfair to drag down a raitng because i didn’t read correctly.

Good for chair legs ban esters e.

As with most proxxon products, this one is no exception. Well constructed, looks good, easy to use and’ does what it says on the tin’. Would recommend this product to any model maker. Would advise buying the 3 jaw chuck as well.

It seems to want to loosen itself whilst turning which leads to potentially dangerous situations. When it is working ‘normally’ it is an effective small lathe but it is difficult to trust.

Superb engineering, very compact.

A great help with my historic ships model making. Would recommend to anyone doing the same thing.
