Makita BCF201ZW Multi-Battery Portable Fan – – Is not as powerful as you expect

Brilliant delivery service – just what i wanted to keep cool at rock n roll events. Friend has already asked me to purchase fan for her.

Arrived fast and was very useful over the summer trying to work in the heat we had.

Very good for the money, on high speed it lasts about 3 hrs per charge on a battery but i tend to use off the mains, since i brought one two of my work mates have followed suite. Here are the specifications for the Makita BCF201ZW Multi-Battery Portable Fan –:

  • Robust design – Suitable for jobsite use
  • Elastomer bumpers protect against rough handling on a jobsite
  • High/Low selectable wind speed
  • Comes with AC power adapter
  • 3 stage adjustable timer 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours

Very good product used to keep dogs cool in hot weather only down side is battery and charger very expensive but once bought always have it.

This makita fan is one of those purchase that i had managed well without for over two decades in construction but since buying one i now use it nearly every day. Its a fan and is well made, works well and is fairly quiet. Many readers will know that makita tools and accessories are very expensive and by comparison this fan seems very cheap, but don’t be put off by that as this is a high quality item. The fan will run for approx one hour on a 3ah battery (not supplied), but i have tended to run it using the supplied mains adaptor. What do i use it for:obviously keeping an area cool with a breezedrying paintsdrying floors after moppingforcing air into a room with the fan sat in the window, and the same to force smells/smoke out of a roomremoving the odour from cleaning materials or paintsdrying out damp rooms.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • Used nearly every day since purchase
  • It looks like it has a timer on it too
  • Is not as powerful as you expect

This was originally bought because i already had alot of makita lithium tools and wanted to add this to my collection. At first i always used my batteries but now it’s funny it’s always on the mains (which comes included in the box). The amount of power on full is amazing and has led to my big upright fan going into storage, the lower power mode is a little noisier than full but you put up with it after a little bit. My favorite feature of the fan is the timer, you can set 1, 2 or 4 hours and it will turn off automatically (great for those hot nights so you can settle off to sleep and save energy). An all round great product providing you already have the batteries and charger or don’t mind just using the mains like me.

This is brilliant we have been taking it out for when we go out to shows and it is great for keeping cool while it has been so hot the children get hot so this is great for keeping them cool so they don’t get fractious well worth the money but would point out it would be better to put on their web site that you need all of the extras so that it works and point it out with better writing and information.

Great item, fantastic price and being made by makita excellent quality comes as standard. Whilst it’s a ‘naked’ unit and as such supplied without a battery it does however come with a ac adaptor for 240v mains use.

Speedy delivery, great communication, good quality product.

I’ve only given this 4 stars because i haven’t properly road-tested this yet. It is quite big – maybe 18′ high, by about 12′ across, but it does fold flat and works on the li-on 18v batteries or 240v via the supplied transformer. It folds flat or into an ‘a’ frame shape which means it will be very stable. Or you could hang it anywhere via the handle. It looks like it has a timer on it too. The little ‘taz’ i had with it showed it to be a good mover of air. I bought it because;a) i have a lot of 18v makita stuff and consequently the batteries to fit;b) it’s makita. Say no morei’ll report back later when the weather’s improved as to how it’s standing up.

Good little fan great for working on lofts on hot days, gave it three stars because it doesn’t last too long on a four amp hour battery and it’s not the strongest fan you’d hope it to be. I’d spend a little bit extra and get the bigger makita fan if i was to buy one again.

Husband loves it, has worked wonders with this hot weather, well impressed would advise anyone to buy one, thanks again.

Well built fan, has two speeds which will cover most uses. This fan is built for on site use so makes a fair amount of noise, do not buy it if you want something wisper quiet. Ignore bad reviews from people who haven’t read the specifications properly, they tell you it comes with a mains supply it does not come with a battery.

The fan is brill yet like other users (and yes i failed to read previous reviews) i assumed the battery and charger came with it however since purchased and all okay. Surely when you sell an item like this you need to state ‘battery sold seperate’.

But very dissapointed when we found that the battery was not included, or a charger for it. Will you please make it clear on the web site.

Not very pleased with this product.
