Evolution Power Tools – Build Evolution Precision File Sander : Quality power file solid not flimsy made like most of the others

It is a very handy and efficient piece off tool, and is meeting my expectations 100 %.

Excellent sander, seem to have a good build quality and is easy to use. Comes with two sanding heads which is useful. Made sanding down a set od steel wheels easy. The sanding belts that come with it don’t last long at all. The silverline ones are excellent however.

I really wish i had bought one sooner. The belt that came fitted did have a white powder on it like others have reported but i am certain this is not due to them being second hand. Anyway, so far i have been under my van with this cleaning off rust and old underseal and it rockets through it and is far easier to use than my angle grinder with a wire brush on it. I have also used it to clean well inside some outriggers that connect the chassis to the sills. This has saved me removing them to clean them out. I am seriously impressed and very very happy with this tool. It is up to the standard of their saws. I do recommend you buy a bunch of belts when you order this.

I bought it to clean up mortice. I bought it to clean up mortice holes in green oak having cut out the rough with chain mortiser and chisels. The file sander was used for final easing in tight spots. You must wear safety glasses as with coarse grits it spits grit fragments back at you. Belt alignment is critical as it is easy to break belts long before they are worn out – so buy plenty of spares.

  • Best buy of the year.
  • More useful than you think.
  • worth looking at!,,,,,

Evolution Precision File Sander, 400 W (230V)

  • Adjustable sanding arm (120 degree)
  • Variable speed (300-1700 rpm)
  • Slim-line design
  • Lightweight and portable
  • Two year warranty (only valid if purchased in the UK)

Quality tool, head swivels and locks to help access difficult areas. Motor is powerful enough for most jobs this will be used for, well worth the money.

Well balanced and powerful file with good control for straight and angle filling in out of position and difficult to reach.

Excellent tool, very pleased.

I am disabled and therefore the tools i buy have to be easy to use, have a variety of uses, need little physical input from me, weigh as little as possible and be economical. A couple of years ago i bought the b&d version of this tool and was very happy with it, but it got damaged, so i needed a replacement. When i saw this tool i was pretty skeptical at first, but checked out several reviews and decided to take the plunge. Definitely made the right call. I am delighted with it and it’s performance capabilities. It has a greater degree of power available, without being more difficult to control as a result, and i have found the ability to change the angle of the head very useful indeed. It also comes with two differently configured arms that are easy to change and provide a further range of capabilities. It’s first use was to strip an old crittal window of the many layers of different paints applied to it over the last 30 years, it ate them up without so much as a burp.

Doe3s what it says on the can, files beautifully, well made and the second arm is ace.

Good file something that you should have. Good file something that you should have.

This is one of those tool you buy almost for a pure “technological itching”, but when take confidence, it becomes a tool you can live without. The only problem if you buy from italy (and i suppose even from other not british locations) is the supply of sanding belts. In fact, if try to buy the ones indicated as the more fitting ones, you will discover that they are not shipped by amazon therefore you have to solve the problem some other way.

Powerfile is good but not sure if my item has a problem. Powerfile is good but not sure if my item has a problem as the belt tensioner does not appear to function smoothly and i have to manually pull the slider mechanism out in order to put tension on the sanding belt. Is great at precise removing and filing of metal but would like to see this mentioned mechanism work correctly.

A cheap power file that does the job and was in fact better than i thought it would be. Light to hold and variable speed with adjustable angle to suit the job. Very pleased with it so far.

This is a great tool that does a great job. The variable speed is very handy. Good strong and reliable and a great help in the workshop. Totally satisfied on this one.

A much better tool than the black and decker one they seem to have ironed out a lot of the problems that i have had with b and d ones.

Superb sander for profiles. Incredibly handy sander, a very little tough to manage at first but it can make quick work of any profile sanding that could be needed – but practise first.

A considerably much better device than the black and decker one particular they feel to have ironed out a large amount of the complications that i have had with b and d ones.

Wonderful very little resource would advise for all those limited spots.

Utilised for diligently eliminating place welds, exceptional bit of kit, narrow belts can snap very easily if you capture them improper but they are cheap plenty of in packs of ten.

Prime top quality sander pretty amazed. I make a ton of gates and have been looking for a solution like this for a while. It is a superior device to get into the confined areas and information the steel down with simplicity. Fantastic product, many thanks amazon.

Great file a little something that you ought to have. Very good file a thing that you really should have.

    1. Looks and feels the dog’s b’s. . As a retired engineer i have restored two motorbikes. I am currently restoring an old land rover so a power file is invaluable. I have worn out three b&d power files over 20 years or so – armatures burned out, wear on the arms etc. I was about to buy a fourth b&d but took a punt on the evolution instead. I have to say it looks and feels more robust and only time and abuse will give the full story. At todays knowledge and based on my years of using all sorts of power tools i am very impressed. If you can believe the union jack on the box it is made in the uk so that is a further plus.

Used for carefully removing spot welds, excellent bit of kit, narrow belts can snap easily if you catch them wrong but they are cheap enough in packs of 10.

Really nice piece of kit, easy to use, bought to clean up some old chairs, worked a treat cut the work by half and did a grand job. It has plenty of power for the size of it. All in all a great little tool to have around.
