Excellent at present lot quieter than some i have used warms up quickly, shame the back is not bit wider when you stand it up. The smallest knock and it will go over if you are not careful, you do have to be careful when you are workingon something where you need both hands, which could be a bit hell raising being a heat gun, pity theydon’t do a base to it. But apart from all that it does what it says on the tin.
Only used twice but did the job, asked of it. If it lasts 12 months in my job i will buy another.

- Surpisingly good value for money
- Draper Hot Air Gun 76029
Delivery was prompt, the tool performs well, in as far as a hot air gun can perform, the two heat settings have a significant difference and the only reason i have not given it five stars is i have not had it long enough to see if it lasts.
A useful tool my last one – not the is make – melted its heater and spat bits of red hot wire onto my work.
I’ve only used it once so don’t know how long lived it will be but it has worked as advertised so far. Feels a bit plasticky but for the price what do you expect?.
I love draper tools – they’re so no nonsense. This is a good, reliable no frills hot air gun. Just be careful if you arent used to using one of these – and dont make the daft beginners mistake i did and use it on plaster – the plaster will bubble up and come off in large chunks.
Bought this to replace an einhell hot air gun which gave up the ghost after just over a year. It arrived within two days with super saver delivery – very pleased. The box contains two accessories – a glass protector and something called a ‘reflector hook’. The glass protector worked superbly, stripping the paint and keeping the hot air away from the glass. It feels reasonably light to hold and has two heat settings 300c and 600c. In use the 300c setting provides sufficient heat to strip the paint without scorching the wood. It has a nice long – 3 metres – cable and worked tirelessly and efficiently for hours at a time – i never realised just how much wood i had. A minor point to note is that wearing heavy gloves when working with the air gun – which is absolutely essential – it is quite easy to accidentally press the switch to the 600c setting without realising. The einhell had the two settings separated by the off switch. Overall very pleased with this product.
Good item, reasonable price. . Just have to wait & see how long it lasts.
I have used this model for 5 years and found it very reliable for heat shrinking purposes.
This product worked better than expected. Ready to use right from the box.
This seems to be a good tool which does what it says. I have just stripped paint off a large wooden chest, and found it comfortable to use and simple to operate. However, it arrived without the 2 nozzles and there were no user instructions. Amazon have credited my account with the cost of a stripper nozzle (which i have bought elsewhere). The instructions are available on the draper website, but i am surprised that there were none in the box.
This product was great value for money. Given that it was a cheap purchase it has done a great job. I stripped my stair from years of paint and it did it very easily and effectively. Am now going to use it for the door casings rather than get them replaced. Would definitely recommend this product.
Although my last draper heat gun only lasted 2 years, it had a lot of use. The 2 kw power available quickly lifts paint and allows fine directional control to avoid damaging glass and sensitive materials in the vicinity. I hope this one lasts longer but it does a fine job.
