Draper 71385 14 – long time to charge and not very powerful serves a

Parcel arrived on time and in good condition. A very useful tool, which he uses a a lot, finds easy to use, and man enough for his uses.

Very good easy to use and good value for money.

Works well and drills throough anything with the correct bit. However, it loses its charge during storage which is a let-down when i need to use it again without having to pre-plan usage and charging it for 3/4 hours.

  • An inexpensive tool.
  • Good value for money
  • Great Driver for the smaller jobs around the house.

Love this lightweight but sturdy drill – battery life really good – only needs a wrist band included .

For the money, this is difficult to fault. I use it for all those outside jobs that a corded drill cannot do – fence posts, gates, etc. But the absence of a cord also makes it easier for inside assembly jobs. The torque adjustment and keyless chuck is simple and quick. I read somewhere that motors on diy power tools are rated to about 10 hours. I’ve probably used on about 50 ocasions in the last year, for maybe 15 minutes a time. It’s still working, and i have no complaints.

So far i am very pleased with this drill. Charging is very straightforward – it is interesting to note that they state the battery will hold more charge after it has been charged up a few times. I have only used it for light duties so far and not for long, so at this stage i cannot comment on how long a charge lasts. I have a heavier duty electric drill, but i am never within reach of a socket, and end up with an extension cable – and inconvenience.Simple reversing action with a neutral (off) position. Draper is a reliable name and i have no hesitation in recommending this drill.

Its ok nothing to shout about.

For what little the weather has allowed me to use the drill/screwdriver outside my home, it appears ok. I own already own the same model of drill/screwdriver and i have found it useful for domestic use. The only reason i purchased the new drill is, because the lead on my original drill/screwdriver charger became unusable. Obviously the drill will not compete with the more powerful industrial models, that i have used in my past.

Not used this a great deal but so far as a drill for small holes and as a screw driver its been great, battery life seems very good given the price. Overall good value for money. Update: i recently had to fit some fence spikes to my fence, this was able to screw in well over 600 small screws and drill a few holes all on one charge. Don’t think you can expect more from a budget priced tool.

First class piece of kit – light, well-made, plus prompt delivery – this customer delighted.

Bought as a replacement for corded drill.

I am not a pro but need an cable free drill/ screwdriver from time to time.

Poor at holding charge always flat out of the boxer.

Bought for husband’s birthday to do general diy around the house (because he only had a hammer drill which was too powerful for this purpose) does the trick although not really been used and has stayed in the box in the garage, so hard to leave feedback on actual drill product.

I bought it as a tool to keep in my vehicles tool box. Its a little heavy for the purpose needed but it is as stated so i cant grumble about that.

I bought this for myself to use so i don’t need to find a man. Not too heavy and quite easy to use.

Great build quality and works a treat.

Long time to charge and not very powerful serves a purpose.

If you want a good drill, for materials other than wood (just about manages wood), dont buy this item, too low a top speed. If you want a decently priced, adjustable torque screwdriver, then its good enough for me. Battery lasted long enough for me to screw down a chipboard floor in a 4 metre square room (no. 5′ screws), with only one recharge.

I’ve now had this drill for 7 – seven years and it is never let me down. 100% recommended as a superb quality product that works perfectly anddoesn’t cost the earth. Inlike me – still looks as good as it did in 2004.

Battery life during operation is not as good as i’d hoped. Okay for screws but not good as a drill of tough material.

Arrived on time, packaged well and securely. I charged it up and used it the next day. I bought it mainly as a driver rather than a drill, and i think it’s probably best to use it as such, however it will probably be ok for drilling pilot holes, but not for major masonry work.

Bought this to replace my black & decker drill and did,nt want an expensive one. This make was recommended by my son(a builder). It,s goodfor domestic jobs but i put my old drill with case in the bin,i wish i had kept the case because this new drill has,nt got one. I just assumedit would come with case,do,nt assume as i did.

Battery does not stay charged even when not attached to the drill. I fully charge it put it away and when i need it a week later battery is flat. It is totally pointless having a cordless drill like this if it doesn’t work when you need it.

      1. Battery runs out after drilling one hole. The booklet says that it requires 5-10 charges before reaching full capacity but having persevered for 6 months it is still unuseable.

Battery failed to recharge and supplier gave credit rather than repair or replace.

Every time you go to use it the battery is dead, even if stored fully charged and only for a short period.

Ideal for jobs where there is no mains electricity or where running a long cable is not practical.

Good little drill for light diy. Not so powerful for screwing tho. Overall satisfied at this price can’t expect a rolls royce.

This is an inexpensive handy tool of which this is the second i have had in 10 years. In service the 1st one proved to have a longer life than a previous more expensive make. I does all the jobs i require it for, drilling, screwing (torque set) and more. Well worth the low sum asked for such a tool.

For the money this is not bad for the less demanding tasks but it does struggle to keep its charge when using it to drill holes in thick soft wood or drive in 4″ screws, found my self recharging it after just 20 minutes use, will keep as a spare but need one with a far better level of power and battery life.
