Bosch PSR 14, Five Stars

I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with this; it goes for ages on a charge, and that was using 60mm screws with no pilot holes. It’s light and the only negative is that being light, on some screws you need to steady a little wobble that may happen due to that lack of weight; not a drawback, though, really. Perfect as a driver in my book, especially if you have another drill to buddy it with?.

Lithium-ion technology gives a longer usage and quicker re-charge than my previous bosch drill which was ok for small jobs but really needed an additional battery to complete larger jobs.

Brilliant piece of kit, fits beautifully in your hand (ergonomic?) feels robust and durable.

“Top quality!
, It works and very happy with it
, Compact and does well with all screws and fits – excellent for home DIY

Have had this little drill since december 2010 and it is still going very strong indeed. Very light and the battery charge lasts forever. I like this little drill so much that i am about to buy a second battery for it. Not that is needed at present, but just in case the one that came with it goes.

Has lithium-ion long lasting battery. Compact and does well with all screws and fits – excellent for home diy. Different screw and drill bits must be purchased separately. It doesn’t handle drilling walls well, but it’s not meant to do so in the first place.

Smashing little drill/driver that is remarkably light which makes it ideal for all those self-assembly projects around the house. A bit dissapointed that there was no box or instructions included as i didn’t notice that mentioned in the advert. Also there is no guarantee with it either which could be a problem if it develops a fault.

These are very small, almost seem too small to work, however they certainly dovery lightweight, the battery is tiny, yet very powerful. Particularly useful when doing lots of work on walls / overhead. It is very good thing to do jobs at home. I do with pleasure everything with this tool and the batteries last for ages. Would highly recommend to everyone and anyone.

I needed a drill for a particular purpose, which required only occasional use but needed the battery to have some power stored or rapidly available. The lithium battery on the psr 14. 4 makes this possible, because it holds a charge well between charging sessions and also can be brought up to full power in about 3 hours, if necessary. This drill-driver meets my needs. The trader was prompt and accurate in his descriptions.

I was very happy with this item, works great.

This dinky little drill is more than a toy. I bought it in 2011 to supplement my corded drill. I use it for innumerable minor drilling and screw-driving tasks where it is more convenient to use than getting out the corded drill. I also use it well away from power sources in my work drilling holes to treat tree stumps. I find it a pleasure to use as it fits my hand well and has a long battery life. However, it has a low speed and no hammer action and i am aware that there are now very good cordless drills for high speed drilling and occasional masonry work which i have borrowed. However, i have not wanted or needed to replace my little jem yet.

Adore my cordless drill and driver, the interchangeable batteries means that i’ve stuck with the bosch brand. It works and very happy with it.

Battery holds charge for a good period even on heavy duty work and recharges quickly.

Fantastic easy to use and very lightweight, arrived in one day.

This product is a big improvrmrnt on its forebears. The li-lon battery beats the older type hands down being lighter and able to hold its charge. The drill and attached battery are placed on the charger as a single unit, quickly and easily without any fiddling about. Well done bosh 100% better than the model with ni-cad batteries. Lighter more effiecient – what else can i say – buy it.

Made by bosch so guess what a very good tool.

Ok as a screwdriver, not powerful enough as a drill. If you buy it as a drill primarily, my advice is to look at something a bit bigger. Love the build quality, though.

Works realy well and holds its charge for months.

An excellent tool and reasonably priced.

Had previous versions of this. Good torquenot too heavybattery lasts a long time. Removable battery good idea. Shame it doesn’t come with many tools.

Great little drill, works for most diy tasks and the battery lasts a long time. However it does struggle drilling into masonry bricks.

My last drill/driver was ni-cad and very poor at holding a charge, so whenever i needed it, it was flat. When it finally conked out i looked for one with lithium-ion batteries. I don’t need it for heavy work so it didn’t need to be a monster, but compact and light instead for easy transit and for getting into awkward spaces. This bosch model must be one of the most powerful for its size and weight, and feels solidly built and well balanced. The battery status leds are useful and so is the little spotlight which illuminates the work area. For some reason bosch always supply their products in carry cases – but it’s really not necessary and in fact could be half the size. All it contains is the drill, charger, instructions (not that you really need any) – and only one bit. I think for the price bosch could have put a few more bits in. In fact that brings me onto one thing that could easily have been better – the charger has four spaces for bits, but the drill has none. You need the bits with the drill, not the charger.

This replaces a similar bosch model that i’ve had for 15 years and was only replaced by because the nicad battery had at last given out (it’s now getting further service from my son with a new battery in it) the psr 14. 4 li has a lot more power, does loads of work on one charge, is lighter and has a very useful built in led light. Very pleased and can find nothing to fault it on -long may that continue.

It’s got enough power for my moderate diy use. Best thing about it is the size – easy to handle & super convenient when working in a tight space.

Much better than the old model.

  1. I bought this machine 6 years ago for general diy work around the house. That is, no heavy-duty requirements. I’ve always found the battery fiddly to replace. You have to push down on the red release button while simultaneously pulling backwards on the battery. The motor sparks when starting and stopping the drill, and there is a smell of ozone when using it, so i fear that it won’t last much longer. I have the impression that the quality of the bosch green range of tools for diy use has gotton worse in recent years. I’ve also had trouble with other bosch diy tools, and have now decided to no longer buy them. The bosch blue range of tools for professional is still the best there is, but you pay for it.
