Second one ive brought as the last one grew legs and walked itself off site ‘_’ never the less these little routers are popular for good reason, light and easy to work with, perfect for hinges and locks, time to retire the old skool 1/4 inch routers and get one of these.
Yet to use this but it is a complete kit and a bosch and i feel sure it will perform well for me.
Awsome palm router, only thing i miss on it it’s a variable speed button, that’s why only 4 stars. Here are the specifications for the Bosch Professional GKF 600 Corded 240 V Palm Router:
- Perfect handling thanks to particularly compact design and ergonomic grip area with soft grip
- Combined rough and fine depth adjustment for extremely high precision and top-class work
- Powerful 600-watt motor for wide range of applications
Love it for my workshop in garage used it a lot.
Take care using the height adjustment. Don’t force it when the base is clamped.
Reviews from purchasers :
- Four Stars
- A very good product.
- Used one at work so bought this for myself.
Yet again i am blown away by the quality of a bosch professional tool after being a die hard makita fan for over a decade. The router comes in an attractive well made case that is easy to store the router and all the accessories in without having to fight with it like some other tool cases. The router comes with a well made and easy to use accurate fence and a multi language instruction book. The only reason i didn’t give 5 stars is for the price i would have preferred that the optional plunge base be included although the exclusion seems to be common among the big name brands for trim routers. The router is very well made and feels great in the hand. It is very easy to use with a clasp that locks / unlocks and you just move the body of the router up or down until you get the desired cutting depth which you can check on the measuring scale on the body of the machine. There is also a fine adjustment knob so you can dial in the perfect setting quickly and easily. On the base is two cut out and textured areas for placing your fingers on which makes it very easy to keep the router flat / square to your workpiece. The machine is soft start so no crazy torque when it first spins up. The machine does not have a speed adjustment switch but rather a build in speed control that recognises the density of the material being cut and automatically adjusts the speed of the motor to the correct rpm to suit.
This is a really good piece of equipment, and when brought with accessories good value. It is well made, light and easy to use with one hand. Make sure you buy one with the 1/4 collet because 6mm cutting bits are hard to find (uk). Since this arrived i have used it a lot. The only weakness is the collet, it is fragile and arround £20 expensive to replace. I broke mine first time i used it because i had not tightened it enough. Correctly tightened, i have had no problems. The lack of a variable speed control i throught would be a dissadvantage but this has not proved to be a problem.
Great piece of kit would highly recommend.
As you would expect, good bit of kit.
Really good little router, with lots of power for a small thing, mainly used for recessing hinges for doors.
Although i have yet to actually use this product it looks and feels perfectly usable for the work i require it for.
At this moment i can only put a 5 star against this item as i have not used it yet. It arrived promptly however and in good condition, was complete in content as described, and most important of all it works having given it a test run. Maybe time and use may alter perception, but this is a quality item from a quality manufacturer supplied by a quality internet seller so i can do no other than award it a full 5 stars, having wanted one of thse items for such a long time.
The item was well packaged and arrived on time was of a reasonable price. I would definitely use this seller again. Having been looking for a good palm router for some time i have used this tool regularly and it is a excellent tool to use.
The router was delivered with one collet of 6 mm – is okanother collet – probably 1/4 inch could not be fitted to the router – bad when you buy 1/4 inch router bits with it. Probably a nice machine, but i will only be able to use 6mm bits. Maybe i’ll look for another very good price on a bosch gof 1600 ce – that will be able to use 8 mm and 12 mmbits.
Nice hand held tool perfect for hinges.
